Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving specialties, and with so many u/w cameras to choose from, it has become easier and more fun than ever to capture images of your scuba adventures.
Through hands-on training during two scuba dives and guidance from your Instructor & Master Photographer Graham Willis, you’ll discover:

Program Structure
Course is done over an evening discussion and one full day. On this program you will learn the basics of Digital Underwater Photography including, but not limited to: Composure, Lighting, Colour, Focussing, Environmental impact as well as basic photography editing.
Theory study is to be done prior the start on the class via PADI Underwater Photography Course manual, provided upon booking.
Evening Discussion
The course commences on a Friday evening at 6:00pm at Frog Dive Scuba centre. Meet your buddies & instructor, discuss your knowledge reviews and get your gear ready for the weekend. If Thursday doesn't work for you, e-mail us on [email protected] and we can organise a more suitable time.

#Classroom Session - Photography workflow: downloading, backing up, sorting and organising images and images processing.
Requirements
- 12 years or older
- Hold a PADI Open Water Certification or equivalent: please keep in mind that take good photos if you don't have a good buoyancy can be extra challenging! Although there are no requirements, we strongly advice the student to have done at least 20 dives to ensure good buoyancy skills.
- Complete the diving Medical Questionnaire and seek medical clearance if required
- Provide transport to/from dive sites
- Provide your own underwater camera

Do I need to have my own camera?
Yes! A very important piece of gear for this particular course. It doesn't need to be a professional camera, it can be a point and shoot camera or a compact camera in a housing, with or without an external flash (strobe). Bring your manual if you have it!
There's a possibility of camera hire, although we strongly recommend you to have you own. Email [email protected] if you wish to find out more about camera hire.
You will also need a computer or other device for downloading images that is suitable for viewing digital images (laptop with a card reader is ideal). It's recommended to have an image processing software that will allow you to enhance your images, but it is not required.
